Meet 22-year-old Rangi Devi, a new mother from Nepal. Recently, Rangi Devi was working outside her home and slipped in the snow. She subsequently developed a swollen and painful wrist, and was diagnosed with a fracture of her right radius and ulna.
“She has been unable to eat or sleep at ease,” says our medical partner, Possible. “It is difficult for her to even breastfeed the baby. She cannot work.”
Rangi Devi’s family relies on agriculture for income, which earns enough income for nine months of the year. Rangi Devi’s husband works as a wage laborer in India to supplement their income, but the family does not have any spare funds for her treatment. For $205, Possible will be able to provide treatment and correct the fracture.
“Rangi Devi will be able to move her arms with ease,” says Possible. “It will help her take care of herself and her baby. She will be able to do her regular work as well.”
Let’s help ensure Rangi Devi can take care of herself and her new baby, and heal her arm as quickly as possible!
