Younoeurs is a young boy from a rural farming family from Cambodia. He lives in Mondulkiri, a province on the Cambodian border, with his parents, who work as rubber farmers. Life is challenging for the family as they work long hours to support their children. He has one older brother who is in Grade 2. In his free time, he enjoys playing with toys with his brother, and his favorite meal is korko fish soup. When he was one month old, Younoeurs was burned by a hot motorbike exhaust pipe, resulting in scarring on the fourth and fifth fingers of his right hand. Burn scar contractures have formed on his fingers, making it difficult and painful for him to extend them. This limits his ability to grasp and hold objects properly. When Younoeurs's family learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, they traveled for eight hours seeking treatment. On March 17th, surgeons at CSC will perform a burn contracture release surgery to help improve the movement of his fingers, reduce pain, and allow him to use his right hand more normally for daily activities. Now, he needs help to fund this $652 procedure. Younoeurs 'smother said, “After the surgery, I hope that my son will be able to use his right hand properly without any difficulties. I want him to grow healthy, and thank you to the donors for your support.”

Htee is a 10-year-old girl from Burma. She lives with her family in a refugee camp in Mae Hong Son province, Thailand. Htee and her two siblings were born and raised in the camp. Her parents met and married there after relocating in 2006 due to conflicts between armed groups in their village. Htee’s mother is a homemaker, while her father works as a day laborer. She is currently enrolled in the camp school and is in Grade 5. Additionally, Htee's four cousins live with the family and also attend school. In her free time, Htee enjoys playing with her brother and friends. For two days, Htee has been experiencing troubling symptoms, including severe pain at right lower part of abdominal, high fever, vomiting and lethargy. She is currently admitted at Mae Sariang Hospital, where she was diagnosed with appendicitis. She needs urgent surgery to prevent her condition from getting worse. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Htee receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo an appendectomy, a surgery to remove the appendix when it becomes infected, on April 20th, at Mae Sariang Hospital. This procedure will cost $1500, and Htee and her family need your support. Htee’s father said, “My daughter is an active child. She loves to go to school and never missed attendance. Now she is in severe pain, and I hope that she gets better after treatment.”

Bora is a 41-year-old electrician from Kampong Cham, Cambodia. He is married and has one son and one daughter. He lives with his wife, who is a grocery seller, while his children are students. In his free time, Bora enjoys exercising with his children. About two months ago, Bora developed a chalazion in his left eye, causing him burning, itchiness, irritation, and eye redness. A chalazion is an inflamed cyst in a patient's tear gland. It is difficult for him to see clearly and work. Bora traveled for three hours to seek treatment from our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. On June 4th, surgeons will remove the cyst through a chalazion excision procedure. After recovery, Bora's symptoms should improve. Bora can contribute $25, but needs help raising an additional $238 to fund his procedure. Bora said, "I hope after surgery my eye lid no more cyst, and I won’t worry about it anymore. I want to go back to work well."
