Ivan is a 17-year-old boy from Uganda. He takes on casual jobs to support his family. He lost his father 13 years ago, leaving his mother to carry the responsibility of raising and supporting Ivan and his four siblings. His mother is a farmer. In his free time, he enjoys playing football.
For about one year, Ivan has had an umbilical hernia. He is now unable to comfortably perform even the little casual work that he depends on for his livelihood and contribution to the family.
Fortunately, on October 1st, Ivan will undergo hernia repair surgery at our medical partner’s care center, Rushoroza Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $170 to fund Ivan’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Ivan’s mother says, “My son has suffered from this pain for a long time, and it has now made it difficult for him to work and live normally. I was relieved to learn that surgery can give him a lasting solution, but the cost has left me helpless. I humbly appeal to the donors to help my son receive this treatment. Your support will relieve his suffering and give him hope for a better future. May God richly bless you.”
