Miracle is a two-month-old baby girl from Tanzania. She is the only child of two devoted parents, both of whom are teachers. Like every parent, they dream of seeing their daughter grow up healthy, confident, and able to reach her full potential.
Miracle has clubfoot on her right foot, a condition that causes it to turn inward. The tissues connecting the muscle to the bones are shorter than usual and this would cause difficulty walking or even wearing shoes. At first, her parents believed her foot would straighten by its own with time. However, during a routine visit to the child health clinic, a doctor recognized the condition and referred Miracle for specialized clubfoot treatment.
Fortunately, Miracle’s family traveled to visit our medical partner’s care center, Kafika House, where doctors will begin clubfoot treatment on July 16th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $341 to fund Miracle’s clubfoot repair. After treatment, Miracle has an excellent chance of growing up able to walk, run, and play just like other children.
Miracle’s parents said, “When we learned that Miracle’s condition could be treated, we felt a great sense of relief and hope. Thank you for giving our daughter the opportunity to grow up walking confidently and enjoy the same opportunities as every other child.”
