Bridget is a 28-year-old woman from Uganda. Born into a family of eight children, Bridget completed a civil engineering course, but has so far not been able to secure employment. Presently, she practices small-scale farming to earn some income to meet family needs. Her husband, also a qualified engineer, has been able to find a job within his profession, and works as a boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) driver, working hard to supplement his wife's income. During her free time, Bridget enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Bridget is currently expecting her first child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section due to a high risk pregnancy. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Bridget undergo a C-Section on February 17th. This procedure will cost $214, and Bridget needs your support. Bridget says, "I earnestly seek your support. I am a professional engineer, but with no job, and the little income we get is from my husband, who is a boda-boda rider, and a little from our small farm. I look forward to becoming a mother."

Sophy is a 36-year-old woman from Battambang Province in Cambodia. She is married and has two children: a daughter in 11th grade and a son in 8th grade. Sophy and her husband are rice farmers. Sophy also sells breakfast to support her family, and in her free time, she enjoys going to the market to buy ingredients. In 2018, Sophy was in a motorcycle accident. Although there was no bone fracture at the time, she later developed bruising on her right ankle. The wound has not healed since. Due to the chronic infection on her ankle, Sophy been experiencing pain for years and has difficulty carrying out her work and daily activities. When Sophy learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she traveled for four hours seeking treatment. On May 12th, surgeons at CSC will perform a debridement procedure to help remove infected tissue and support proper healing of the chronic wound. Sophy contributed $50 toward her care and needs assistance raising $367 to fund the remaining cost of her procedure. Sophy said, "After the surgery, I hope that my wound will heal completely so I can walk comfortably and take care of my family again."

Irene is a 26-year-old woman from Uganda. She grew up as the youngest of four siblings, with one brother and two sisters. Irene's father passed away in 2000. Irene studied up to Senior Four but was unable to continue with further education due to a lack of school fees. While she enrolled in a nursery‑teaching course, financial constraints prevented her from being able to complete the training. Irene married her husband six years ago, and they have two children. Their oldest is five and in Primary One class at school, and their youngest is two and in the baby class. Irene runs a small retail business that helps sustain their family, while her husband earns a living through his boda‑boda business. During her free time, Irene enjoys taking care of her family. Irene is currently expecting her third child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a cesarean section in order to ensure the safety of both mother and child. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Irene undergo a C-Section on May 7th. This procedure will cost $252. Irene shared, "It will be a blessing to deliver with your support because my biggest worry was the hospital bill payment; otherwise, I hope for a fruitful and successful delivery."
