Martha is 47 years old and a nurse from Malawi. She is married and has three children. Because of her current health, she had to stop working. For about five months, Martha has been experiencing uncomfortable gynecological symptoms associated with abdominal pains and body weakness due to low blood levels. Since she has not been working, most of her time is now spent resting. She decided to seek medical help and underwent examinations and scans. She has been diagnosed with uterine fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,363 to fund Martha's surgery. On March 3rd, she will undergo gynecological surgery at our medical partner's care center, Partners in Hope Medical Center. Once recovered, Martha will be able to resume her daily activities free of pain. Martha shared, "This condition has caused me to be at home instead of working; I am physically and psychologically affected. Kindly help me to resume my responsibilities and continue helping patients."

Derly is a 10-year-old girl who lives with her mother in a village in Antioquia, Colombia. She lives with congenital glaucoma, a condition that has required ongoing medical care since she was very young. In addition, about one year ago, she was evaluated by a pediatric dentist, who found multiple deep dental cavities. Since then, Derly has remained under observation. However, the progression of the disease has been unfavorable, leading to significant complications in her oral health. Currently, Derly experiences intense and persistent pain, inflammation, as well as difficulty eating and falling asleep, which impacts her quality of life. The medical team has advised for her to undergo dental treatment under general anesthesia to ensure a comprehensive, safe, and effective procedure. Derly will be receiving support from our medical partner, Clinica Noel. She is scheduled to undergo treatment on May 20th, and Clinica Noel is requesting $1,109 to cover the cost of this procedure. Derly’s mother expressed: "I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support; it is a great blessing. Thanks to this noble gesture, Derly will be able to receive the treatment she so desperately needs and, with it, regain her smile and the quality of life that every child deserves. Sha is a 56-year-old man from Burma. He lives with his wife, two daughters, and two sons in a refugee camp in Mae Hong Son Province, Thailand. Sha and one of his sons are day laborers in a village near the camp. His wife and one of his daughters are homemakers, while his other daughter is a teacher in the camp. His other son is still a student in the camp. The family has a vegetable garden around their home, and they raise chickens and pigs to sell and for their own consumption. Their combined monthly income of 5,000 THB is often not enough to cover their daily needs. They currently have a loan of 3,000 THB, money borrowed due to Sha's illness. A few days ago, Sha began to experience troubling symptoms, including severe abdominal pain with the pain radiating to his back and a fever. He has been diagnosed with appendicitis, and now needs surgery to prevent his condition from worsening. Our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund, is helping Sha receive treatment. He is scheduled to undergo an appendectomy, a surgery to remove the appendix when it becomes infected, on May 14th at Mae Sariang Hospital. This procedure will cost $1500, and Sha and his family need your support. Sha says, “I never experienced pain like this before. When the pain is very severe, I can’t breathe easily. I would like for this pain to stop.”
