Annet is a 35-year-old mother of four children from Uganda. She is married and lives with her husband and their children. Annet and her husband are small-scale farmers who rely largely on agriculture to feed their family and meet daily household needs.
Annet has four children and was recently found to have a perineal tear involving the perineal muscles and rectal mucosa, with soiling of stool in the perineal area. This condition may occur after a difficult delivery. Following assessment, she was referred for surgery to repair the affected tissues and restore the normal function of the perineal and anal structures. For Annet, the recommended procedure represents more than just medical treatment. She hopes that successful treatment will help restore her physical comfort, improve her hygiene, and allow her to regain confidence in her everyday life and marriage.
Fortunately, on October 13th, Annet will undergo surgery at Rushoroza Hospital. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $193 to fund Annet’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live more comfortably and confidently.
Annet says, “For years, I have lived with a condition that has made me uncomfortable and affected my confidence as a woman and a wife. I often wished that I could find a way to get treatment, but my family could not afford the costs involved. Your support would give me a chance to heal, regain my confidence, and live a more comfortable life with my husband and children. I will always be grateful for your kindness and support.”
