Yesak is a joyful two-year-old boy from Ethiopia. He is known for his bright smile, active nature, and love for playing with his friends. He enjoys playing football and riding his bicycle. As the first child of his parents, he is curious, intelligent, and quick to remember new things. He loves exploring his surroundings, spending time with other children, and learning through play. Yisak lives with his parents in a rented house. His father works in the insurance sector, while his mother works as a messenger. Yesak was born with hypospadias, a condition that causes urinary dysfunction. Yesak's parents first discovered his condition when they took him for circumcision. During the visit, the doctor explained the condition to them. The news left the family worried and frustrated, but the doctor reassured them that the condition was treatable and advised them not to lose hope. The doctor referred Yisak to a higher-level hospital for specialized treatment when he became older. Without treatment, he will continue to experience uncomfortable symptoms and will be at risk of future complications. Fortunately, Yesak is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on June 26th, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,293 to cover the cost of his procedure and care. We are grateful for the care and support given to Yisak and hopeful for a positive outcome for his condition."

Daniel is a six-year-old boy from Ethiopia. He loves playing football and riding bicycles. During her pregnancy, Daniel’s father left the family, and his mother faced many challenges while raising him alone. With support from family members, Daniel continued to grow and receive care during the first year of his life from his aunt. Daniel's uncle noticed that there was something different about Daniel, and took him to a clinic for assessment. After examining Daniel and explaining the condition, the doctor helped the family understand that it was a manageable and treatable condition. Daniel’s mother then focused on raising him while waiting for an opportunity for surgery. Daniel was born with hypospadias, a condition that causes urinary dysfunction. Without treatment, he will continue to experience uncomfortable symptoms and will be at risk of future complications. Fortunately, Daniel is scheduled to undergo corrective surgery on May 8th. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $1,293 to cover the cost of his procedure and care. Daniel's mom said, “Thank you for giving me this opportunity. We are truly happy as this is not a small thing for our family. I sincerely hope Daniel will be doing well after the surgery.”

Bikila is 65 years old and a farmer from Ethiopia. He has seven children. Two years ago, Bikila developed a cataract in both eyes, causing blurry vision and reduced sight. A cataract is a clouding of the normally clear natural lens inside your eye that causes blurry vision. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside without the support of his family. Fortunately, Bikila is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery with the help of our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, where surgeons will remove and replace the blurred lens in both eyes. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Bikila needs help to raise $300 to fund this procedure. "My biggest hope is to get my eyesight back so I can see the world around me clearly again. I just want to walk safely on my own feet without anyone’s help. I miss my freedom so much, and I want to be independent again," said Bikila.
