James is a three-week-old baby boy and the firstborn in his family. His parents are cattle farmers who rely entirely on livestock for their livelihood.
James has clubfoot on his right foot. Clubfoot is a condition in which the foot is twisted out of shape. The tissues connecting the muscle to the bones are shorter than usual, which causes difficulty walking and even completing simple tasks, like wearing shoes.
Fortunately, James’s family traveled to visit our medical partner’s care center, Kafika House. Doctors will begin clubfoot treatment on March 26th, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $341 to fund James’s clubfoot repair surgery. After this surgery, he will be able to learn how to walk more easily and grow up to be healthy and active.
James’ mother says, “This shocked us as new parents. We never expected our son to be born with this condition, and we are hoping he won’t have to live with it.”
