Stella is a 47-year-old mother of six from Uganda. She was raised by her mother after her father passed away many years ago. She and her husband engage in small-scale farming, producing food for their household and selling any surplus to meet their basic needs.
For more than ten years, Stella has been experiencing persistent lower abdominal pain. Her condition has worsened in recent months, with increasing back pain and heavy bleeding. Her condition has significantly affected her daily life. She is no longer able to participate in farming activities or comfortably interact with others in the community. Stellah has been taking painkillers and, at times, using local herbs in an attempt to manage the pain and bleeding, but these measures have not provided lasting relief.
Stella was diagnosed with intramural fibroids. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $253 to fund Stella’s surgery. On October 6th, she will undergo gynecological surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully alleviate her symptoms.
Stella says, “I hope my treatment will be successful and that I will recover and get rid of pain so that I can praise and worship the name of God.”
