Gift is a 26-year-old single mother of one living child from Uganda. She resides in a rented house. She previously had two children, but sadly, one passed away from an unknown cause. Gift earns a living as a small-scale businesswoman, operating a stall where she sells tomatoes and onions.
Two weeks ago, Gift began to experience troubling symptoms, including lower abdominal pain approximately two weeks ago. She initially sought treatment at a nearby clinic, where she was given painkillers, but her condition did not improve. As the pain persisted, she also tried using local herbal remedies, which unfortunately worsened her condition.
Realizing the severity of her symptoms, she sought medical attention at our medical partner’s care center, Rwibaale Hospital, where the attending doctor recommended an ultrasound scan. She was diagnosed with a leaking right ectopic pregnancy.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $230 to fund Gift’s surgery. On June 7th, she will undergo surgery that will help address her symptoms and prevent other complications.
Gift says, “I hope to get rid of pain and resume working.”
