Kry is a 70-year-old motor taxi driver. He has one daughter and five grandchildren. Kry lives with his wife who used to work as a rice farmer, but now stays home to watch the grandchildren. Kry enjoys listening to the monks praying on the radio.
Six years ago, Kry developed a cataract in his left eye, causing him sensitivity to light, blurry vision, and tearing. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Kry learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for two hours with his wife seeking treatment. On June 11th, doctors will perform a small incision cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his left eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Kry shared, “I hope after surgery I can see well so I can go outside easily by myself and help my wife with housework and the grandchildren. I want to be able to drive my motorbike too.”
