Odeta is a mother of four from Malawi. She is a farmer and has 12 grandchildren. When she is not farming, she attends church, chats with friends, and sings.
For one month, Odeta has been experiencing troubling gynecological symptoms. She has been diagnosed with cervical cancer. She needs to undergo a hysterectomy, a procedure in which surgeons will remove her uterus.
Our medical partner, World Altering Medicine, is requesting $650 to fund Odeta’s surgery. On September 21, she will undergo gynecological surgery at Nkhoma Hospital, our medical partner’s care center. The requested money pays for supplies, medications, and seven nights of hospital stay. Odeta is very much looking forward to having her symptoms gone, spending time with her friends and family, and gardening.
She says, “I am happy that my symptoms will be gone and the issue will be taken care of.”
