Meet William. He’s 13-years-old and lives in Malawi with his family. William has a condition called hydrocephalus, literally meaning “water on the brain.” Because of this he has some swelling in his head, has some difficulty seeing, and has not felt comfortable attending school for some time now.
“I look forward to my son getting better and happy again!” says a parent of William’s. “I want to see him associating with his friends once more and going back to school!”
By raising $992 we can ensure William gets the surgical care he needs to make this a reality. Clinicians at Watsi’s partner, World Altering Medicine, will be able to remove the excess fluid from William’s head. This will decrease swelling, improve William’s eyesight, help him walk and sleep better, and perhaps even make him confident enough socially to return to school.
