Cristofer lives with his parents and two older siblings in rural Guatemala. He likes playing with his toy rattle and is adored by his family. His mother dreams of her son going to school and getting a good education.
Cristofer has been diagnosed with malnutrition. His mother has been unable to breastfeed him, and his family cannot afford to buy baby formula. Right now, Cristofer is at risk of long-term brain damage.
Fortunately, malnutrition is easy to treat. Nutritionists at our medical partner’s care center, Clinic Miller, will provide Cristofer will a supply of baby formula and micronutrient supplements. Cristofer’s parents will also be taught how to prepare nutrient-rich and low-cost meals for their baby boy. This personalized treatment plan is set to begin on March 10.
Cristofer’s parents cannot afford to pay for their son’s treatment plan, so our medical partner, Wuqu’ Kawoq, is asking for $1,162 to cover the costs.
Cristofer’s mother says, “I am very thankful to the organization for helping me with my baby.”
Let’s help Cristofer grow into a strong and healthy young boy!
