Leang successfully received vision-restoring cataract surgery.
Leang’s eye cataract was successfully removed from her left eye and clear vision has been restored. Following the operation, she was given eye drops to reduce inflammation and fight infection. Leang went home after the first surgery and has yet to return to have the same operation completed in the other eye. Because returning to the clinic requires taking a day off from work and usually a family escort, she may have had trouble finding a day to come back. Also, because she left with clear vision in one eye, her problems with blurred vision are less of a burden making the second surgery a less immediate priority than the first. The second surgery will be free whenever Leang returns.
“I feel very happy that I can see everything clearly again,” shares Leang. “I can do any work at home easily like plant some vegetables for my family and I can go places on my own without needing to bother others to take me.”
