Soe is an eight-year-old boy from Burma. He lives in a village with his parents, siblings, and extended family.
When Soe turned four years old, his parents noticed a swelling in a sensitive area. Four years later, the swelling turned blue and caused him a lot of pain. It became difficult to walk and move his body. He also stopped going to school.
Nevertheless, his parents decided not to take him to the hospital because they could not afford it. Then, in early 2017, they learned about our medical partner’s care center from someone in their village. After saving enough money for transportation, Soe and his mother visited the clinic in May. Upon their arrival, they were referred to our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund (BCMF).
Now, fortunately, with the help of BCMF, Soe is scheduled to undergo hernia repair surgery on August 9. His family needs help raising $1,500 to fund this procedure.
