When Sai Phalla was three years old, he burned his hand in an open cooking fire. Because of the severity of the burns, he has developed contractures (thickened scar tissue) that cause four of his fingers to bend towards his palm. Sai Phalla says he can’t open his hand or grip anything.
Sai Phalla enjoys listening to the news on the radio. He lives in a rural area of Cambodia, where he works on his family’s farm taking care of the cows. Working would be easier with a fully functioning hand.
For $300, we can fund reconstructure surgery to improve function in Sai Phalla’s hand. Let’s work together to make daily life easier for Sai Phalla!
