Benita is a vigorous 46-year-old Kaqchikel woman with severe cholelithiasis (gall stones).
Benita is widowed and has grown children. Due to her condition, she has been unable to work, and so cannot afford the surgery that she needs to remove the gall stones that are interrupting her life.
Her gall stones have predisposed Benita to infections and caused her to have episodes of pain, nausea, and diarrhea multiple times a day. We are raising a total of $400 to help Benita get the care that she needs. Her surgery will cost $200, and labs and transportation will each cost $100. After surgery, Benita’s doctors say she will no longer have significant pain and will be able to resume normal life!
