Merina is a 33-year-old mother of two children from Uganda. After completing her studies in Midwifery, Merina was unable to secure employment, and is currently volunteering at a health center, hoping to be employed when an opportunity arises. Her husband works as a school security guard.
Merina is expecting her third child. Her doctors recommend that she deliver via a caesarean section due to a high risk pregnancy. This way, doctors can ensure the safety of both mother and child.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Merina undergo a C-Section on February 17th. This procedure will cost $214, and Merina needs your support.
Merina says, “I seek your support as my financial situation makes it hard for me to stand on my own. I pray that this surgery is successful, with a good outcome.”

Merina underwent a successful C-section surgery with no complications. She delivered a baby boy weighing 2.2 kilograms (4.9 lbs) with an Apgar score of 8/10 in the first minute and 10/10 in the fifth minute. Merina received all postnatal services and care and was discharged in good health. Her baby was born with some congenital abnormalities on his hands and digits, so Merina was referred to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for further care for her son. After complete recovery, Merina looks forward to returning to her daily activities to brighten her future.
Merina said, “I pray that the Good Lord blesses you and grants you his blessings. I want to thank the hospital staff for making sure that my surgery was a success and with good services, but I urge you to also continue praying for my baby to be well.”
