Huot is a 53-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He has five children, two grandchildren, and enjoys watching television and listening to the monks pray on the radio.
Three months ago, Huot developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Huot learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for three and a half hours seeking treatment. Doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
“I hope that I will be able to see clearly again and will be able to return to my work,” shared Huot.
