Norah is a farmer from Uganda. She has eight children but is now separated from her husband. She lives with her two younger children.
Thirty years ago, Norah began to experience troubling symptoms, including swelling in her neck and difficulty breathing. Because of this, she is unable to work on the farm.
A friend referred her to Rushoroza Hospital to seek treatment. She was diagnosed with goiter and needs surgery to prevent her symptoms from getting worse.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is helping Norah receive treatment. She is scheduled to undergo a thyroidectomy on April 6th at our medical partner’s care center. Surgeons will remove all or part of her thyroid gland. This procedure will cost $333 and she and her family need help raising money.
Norah says, ‘‘I hope I will have a successful surgery. After recovery, I believe I will live an improved life. May God bless you.
