Ly Pov is a secondhand shoe seller from Cambodia. He has one son and one daughter, and enjoys watching Khmer boxing on television in his free time.
Five months ago, Ly Pov developed a cataract in his right eye, causing him blurry vision, tearing, and photophobia. He has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Ly Pov learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, he traveled for one hour seeking treatment. On August 1, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in his right eye. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, he needs help to fund this $211 procedure.
He says, “I hope that after my surgery, I will be able to see clearly again and can return to helping my wife sell shoes.”
