Little Noel is fighting a very adult battle. A three-month-old from Kenya, Noel lives with spina bifidia, a congenital disorder caused when the embryonic neural tube does not close. If left untreated, Noel could develop scoliosis, kyphosis, neurological complications, and potentially fatal infection.
Noel’s parents are both casual laborers, and do not make enough money to support Noel’s medical bills. His mother is hopeful that Noel will get the treatment he needs and adds, “I pray that my son will not develop any complications after surgery.”
For $980, Noel will receive surgery to close the tube in his spinal chord. Let’s help answer Noel’s mom’s prayers and make sure he grows up healthy alongside his siblings and without neurological problems!
