Bunny is a 33-year-old man who lives in Kandal Province in Cambodia. He works as a construction worker, while his wife works in a garment factory. The couple also has a small household garden, where they grow vegetables. Together, Bunny and his wife have three children. About a month ago, Bunny was involved in a motor vehicle accident, and sustained an injury on his left foot. He initially received treatment at a private clinic, where the wound was cleaned and dressed. He then continued wound care at home. Despite this, the wound failed to heal, and has remained open as a non-healing injury. The condition has significantly affected his daily life. He has difficulty walking, performing physical work, and returning to his job, which has impacted his family’s financial stability. Bunny was referred to our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, for specialized care. He is scheduled to undergo free flap surgery on his left foot on June 17th, at Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. The surgery will close the wound, promote healing, and restore foot function. This will help restore Bunny's mobility, allowing him to walk more comfortably, and enabling him to return to work and normal daily activities. Bunny and his family are able to contribute towards the cost of his treatment, but need help raising $759 more to fund the surgery. Bunny says: “After surgery, I hope that my wound will heal completely, so I can walk comfortably again, return to work, and take care of my daily responsibilities without difficulty.”

Jesus is a 12-year-old student from Colombia. He is a calm boy, and like all children, can be mischievous at times, but overall is very easygoing. He enjoys video games and playing soccer. When he grows up, he wants to be a soccer player and play in the World Cup, just like Cristiano Ronaldo. Jesus has an inguinal hernia, a protrusion of abdominal contents through the inguinal canal. Surgery has been recommended to correct it and prevent possible future complications. This condition causes pain, which worsens with physical activity and may limit his movements. Fortunately, on July 28th, Jesus will undergo repair surgery, and our medical partner, Clinica Noel, is requesting $1,005 to fund Jesus's surgery. Once completed, this procedure should allow him to live more comfortably. Kuntha is a 61-year-old corn farmer from Cambodia. She lives in Kampong Cham Province with her elderly mother and her fourth sister, who works at a bank. She is the eldest of five siblings. While all of her younger siblings are married, she remains single. She enjoys listening to monks prayers and growing vegetables around her home in her free time. About 10 years ago, Kuntha noticed a small lump on the left side of the front of her neck. The lump gradually became larger over time. After evaluation at Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), she was diagnosed with a multinodular goiter affecting the left thyroid lobe. Although the lump is not painful, it has become more noticeable over the years, making her worried about her health and self-conscious about the appearance of her neck. She also fears that it may continue to grow if left untreated. Kuntha traveled to our medical partner's care center to receive treatment. On July 13th, surgeons at Children's Surgical Centre (CSC), will remove the mass. Kuntha is contributing to her treatment, but needs help to raise an additional $294 to fund the procedure. She said, “I hope this surgery will remove the lump and give me peace of mind. I have worried about it for many years, and I am grateful for the chance to finally receive treatment.”
