55-year-old Natukunda lives with her two children in Uganda. She supports her family by working as a small scale farmer.
Natukunda shares with our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation (AMHF), that she has been experiencing severe lower abdominal pain for the last four years.
Natukunda has been diagnosed with uterine fibroids (non-cancerous growths on the wall of the uterus) and has been recommended for a total abdominal hysterectomy.
As a single mother, Natukunda can not afford the $208 surgery. AMHF has arranged for the surgery to take place on October 12 and is asking for donations to help cover the costs.
“I will be very glad when I am relieved of this pain which I have lived with for so long. I am looking forward to going back to work,” says Natukunda.
