Meet Dickson, a 14-month-old baby from rural Uganda. Dickson loves to play with his older brothers at home when they return from school.
Dickson has severe malnutrition, and the symptoms have worsened recently. Dickson is often lethargic and has a bad cough and painful diarrhea. Dickson’s mother has tried de-worming tablets and herbal medicine, but his condition has not improved.
A village health volunteer found transportation for Dickson and his mother to visit our partner care center, Bwindi Community Hospital. Dickson’s mother has been ill for the past three months and was unable to walk her baby all the way to the hospital. She is thankful for the transportation and malnutrition treatment. Our medical partner, The Kellerman Foundation, requests $316 for treatment that will help Dickson grow into a healthy toddler. He is scheduled to begin treatment on June 5.
“I thank the donors for the support toward my baby getting treatment. I do not know what I would have done if there was no such support since I am down and not been able to work for the last few months,” says Dickson’s mother.
