“Kemene had a small beauty salon that helped her make some money,” our hospital partner writes, “but she lost it during the earthquake that devastated the country. Now, she cannot afford the treatment she needs because she doesn’t have the means.”
Kemene was recently diagnosed with cervical cancer. She managed to scrape together support for surgery and chemotherapy, but she needs help accessing radiation therapy – the final stage of her treatment.
Kemene lives at home with her brothers, sisters, and father. She looks forward to receiving treatment so she can get healthy again and get back to work. Let’s support her in this important fight!

Kemene did not receive treatment as expected.
Our medical partner, Project Medishare (PM), explains that they lost touch with Kemene after she travelled to the Dominican Republic to receive radiation treatment. They were able to contact her family, who informed them that Kemene has chosen to seek care in a different hospital, closer to her home.
“We are in touch with her, and we will see what we can do for her again,” PM shares.
If Kemene chooses to return for treatment, PM can resubmit her case for Watsi funding at that time.
