Meet Ry, a 47-year old mother of two from Cambodia! After her long days of work as a waitress, Ry comes home to her family and enjoys unwinding by watching Thai dramas on TV.
Recently, however, Ry has developed a large cyst on her eyelid that has been causing her discomfort and keeping her from doing her job as a waitress. “She frequently has pain,” our medical partner, Children Surgical Centre (CSC), tells us. “She is worried because the cyst has been getting bigger.”
The medical term for this condition is chalazion, and it is caused when a gland on the upper eyelid becomes inflamed – forming a painful, hardened cyst. For only $150, we can fully fund surgery to remove the cyst and help ease Ry’s discomfort.
After surgery, Ry “hopes that her eyelid looks good, that she has no pain or irritation and that she can do better work at her job.”
Let’s turn these hopes in to a reality, and help Ry feel more confident!
