Alex is a high school student from Kenya. He is the third born in a family of four children. Alex’s parents are casual laborers. Alex tries to help out with the family’s needs by working on construction sites while on holiday.
Alex fell from a construction site in November and broke his right hand. The fractures could not be fixed immediately as the family did not have enough savings. He is not able to use his hand.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner can help. On December 19, Alex will undergo a fracture repair procedure, called an open reduction and internal fixation. The treatment will help Alex use his hand again. Now, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $640 to fund this procedure.
Alex says, “My wish is to go back to school in January with my hand healed and able to do most of the work on my own. I want to excel and help my parents and siblings.”
