Separa is a three-year-old girl from Ethiopia. She lives with her mother and her six-year-old brother. Her father left when she was one year old, and her mother has raised the two children alone ever since. Separa's health problems started when she was just six months old, when she began having trouble with her tonsils again and again. When she was one, she had surgery to help her. For about three months she was better, but then her symptoms came back, and this time they were worse. She snores loudly every night and breathes through her mouth, even during the day. At night, her breathing becomes blocked while she sleeps, and she suddenly wakes up gasping for air. Separa has enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause her symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $700 to fund a tonsillectomy for Separa, which is scheduled to take place on October 10th. Surgeons will remove her tonsils, hopefully relieving Separa of her symptoms and helping her live more comfortably. Separa shared, "I just want my daughter to breathe and sleep well. She has suffered since she was a baby. I pray this surgery ends it."

Keo is a 63-year-old corn farmer from Cambodia. He lives with his wife and their three children in Kompong Cham province. His wife is also a corn farmer. He enjoys drinking coffee and chatting with friends in his free time. In February 2026, Keo was involved in a road traffic accident when another vehicle struck his right leg, causing fractures of his right femur and tibia. His right tibia has not healed properly and remains infected and unstable. His leg is deformed with an infected wound and drainage, making it difficult for him to walk without support. Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, can help. On September 7th, Keo will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will help treat the infection and stabilize his right tibia, giving the fracture a better chance to heal and helping him regain the ability to walk. He can contribute $50, but needs help raising $550 more to fund his procedure and care. Keo said, “I hope the surgery will clear the infection and make my leg stable again. I look forward to healing well and eventually being able to walk independently and return to my normal daily activities.”

Four-year-old Sinan is a KG 1 student living in Ethiopia. He is the only child of his loving parents. His mother sells vegetables, while his father is a wood craftsman at a local furniture workshop. One year ago, Sinan started to experience a loss of appetite, painful swallowing, severe snoring and nightly sleep disruptions. His throat hurts all the time, swallowing is painful, and his sleep is interrupted every night. He eats so little that doctors had to prescribe medicine to help him regain his appetite. Initially, Sinan's parents didn't realize how serious the situation was, so they treated him with simple painkillers from the local clinic. Four months ago, however, his symptoms grew much worse, and they took him to a specialist hospital. Doctors found severe tonsillitis, and said that he needed surgery as soon as possible. For his parents, the hardest part is watching their only child in pain, day after day, and needing medicine simply to eat. They work hard, yet they still cannot pay for the operation that would make him well. This weighs heavily on them.
