Nathan is a three-month-old baby from Uganda. He is the youngest of three children. His mother is a dedicated teacher at a private school, earning a modest income. Nathan’s father is a small-scale farmer who mainly works in other people’s gardens to earn a small income to support the family.
Since birth, Nathan has had a left hydrocele. His mother reported that Nathan had been crying continuously due to pain and was unable to breastfeed comfortably. Concerned about her child’s condition, she first took him to a nearby health center, where she was referred to our medical partner’s care center, Uganda Martyr’s Ibanda Hospital, for specialized management.
Fortunately, on November 6th, he will undergo surgery, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $201 to fund Nathan’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably.
Nathan’s mother says, “I thank God for the life of my baby; however, I appeal for the support towards his operation, as currently I do not have money for the treatment needed. After my baby has recovered from the surgery, I will continue caring for him while searching for a better job.’’
