Sina is a 5-month-old boy from Cambodia who lives at home with his mother and sister.
Sina was born with a left clubfoot, which is a congenital deformity in which a newborn’s foot is twisted out of shape. Because of Sina’s condition, his parents worry that Sina will be unable to walk properly when he grows up.
Sina is scheduled to undergo an Achilles tendon lengthening procedure on June 9 at our medical partner’s care center, Kien Khleang National Rehabilitation Centre. This surgery involves extending Sina’s Achilles tendon and applying a cast in order to stabilize and reorient his foot. Our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, is requesting $304 to fund Sina’s foot surgery, X-rays, and hospital care.
With proper treatment, Sina can hope to walk easily as he grows to become a strong and healthy young boy.
