“I am praying that my son will get proper treatment so that he can walk properly like other children, continue with his education and later on be a successful independent man,” says Innocent’s mother.
Innocent is a friendly five-year-old kindergarten student from Tanzania who enjoys going to school and singing the alphabet. After school, he loves running in a neighborhood field with his younger sibling; however, this is becoming difficult due to his medical condition.
Innocent has bilateral clubfoot, a congenital deformity that makes it difficult to walk and wear shoes. Without treatment, Innocent will never be able to walk normally. Our medical partner African Mission Healthcare Foundation shares that “his mother is a tailor and she is trying her best to take care of her two children, but badly needs financial support so that her son can get proper treatment.”
Clubfoot surgery at the Arusha Lutheran Medical Center is $1,160. Innocent’s doctors are confident that, with treatment, Innocent will be able to walk normally. With our help, Innocent will be able to run through fields, go to school, and grow up healthy and active!
