Sivorn is a 62-year-old cleaner from Cambodia. She is the oldest of five siblings. She lives with her brother and sister and helps take care of their home. In her free time, she likes watching dramas on TV, and enjoys going to Church near her community.
Five years ago, Sivorn developed a cataract in her right eye, causing her tearing, blurry vision, and photophobia. She has difficulty seeing things clearly, recognizing faces, and going anywhere outside.
When Sivorn learned about our medical partner, Children’s Surgical Centre, she traveled for two-and-a-half hours seeking treatment. On July 2nd, doctors will perform a phacoemulsification cataract surgery and an intraocular lens implant in her right eye. After recovery, she will be able to see clearly. Now, she needs help to fund this $229 procedure.
Sivorn said, “I hope after surgery I will be able to see everything better. I hope I can do all my work myself and look after my brother and sister well. I want to cook food for them, and clean up their house more easily.”
