Mar is a 64-year-old man from Burma. He lives with his sister, niece, five nephews, and a grandniece in a refugee camp in Tak Province, Thailand. Mar is retired. His niece and sister are teachers at the camp school, while his nephews work as construction and carpentry day laborers. Their combined income is just enough to cover their daily living expenses. They received free basic health care at the camp clinic. During his free time, Mar volunteers to clean at the church. In the middle of September 2025, Mar began to experience pain in his lower back and noticed blood in his urine. He visited the camp hospital, where a doctor examined him and suspected he may have a benign mass in his prostate, and referred him to a bigger hospital for further investigation. Mar sought treatment through our medical partner, Burma Children Medical Fund. He is now scheduled to undergo surgery to remove the mass on February 13th. He is requesting $1,500 to cover the total cost of his procedure and care. “It is not comfortable to walk with this urine tube. Without it, I cannot pass urine. I hope I can have surgery soon,” said Mar. He also added, “Thank you, BCMF, for helping me with my treatment. I hope to live without this urine tube after the surgery.”

Eba is a six-year-old energetic boy from Ethiopia. His mother works as a dedicated cleaner, while his father is a daily laborer. About two years ago, Eba started experiencing fever, difficulty in eating, and snoring. Though he began his school years with such a bright spirit, the constant pain and burning fevers of chronic tonsillitis are weighing him down. The illness has cast a shadow of deep anxiety over his entire home. With his parents relying on minimum daily wages, every bottle of medicine and every day missed from work to care for him pulls the family deeper into a difficult struggle, leaving them in a fragile and uncertain position. Eba was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time. Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $700 to fund a tonsillectomy for Eba, scheduled for January 28th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils, hopefully relieving Eba of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably. His parents say, "We had actually given up hope of finding treatment for our baby boy because we knew we could never afford it. But the moment we heard about the donor program, tears of joy filled our eyes."

Enchali is a joyful 23-month-old boy from Ethiopia who lives with his mother and grandmother. Soon after his birth, local conflict in their home area forced them to flee their home and farmland, leaving the family displaced. Despite the challenges, Enchali is known for his bright smile, active nature, and love for playing with his friends. He enjoys running around and dreams of becoming a police officer one day. Since birth, Enchali has been experiencing swelling and discomfort in his groin area, especially whenever he cried, ran, or played. His mother first noticed the swelling when he was around one year old and became deeply worried as it continued to grow. With limited financial resources and little understanding of the condition, she sought for help and learnt about our medical partner's care center, BethanyKids Myungsung Christian Medical Centre (BKMCM). After a thorough examination at BKMCM, Enchali was diagnosed with an inguinal hernia, a condition that occurs when abdominal tissue protrudes through a weak spot in the lower abdominal muscles, causing a bulge in the groin area. He needs surgery to prevent his symptoms from getting worse. Fortunately, Enchali has been scheduled for hernia repair surgery on May 21st. Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $512 to fund Enchali's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently. Enchali’s mother says, "Thank you so much. I hope he will be well soon. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity for my child.”
