Sarah is a 40-year-old woman from Kenya who loves spending time with her children. They are very close, and she finds talking with them relaxing.
Sarah has had a chronic wound on her left leg since 2009. It is unclear what caused the wound, as both legs were initially affected but the right leg has since healed. Sarah has been to numerous hospitals and undergone several skin grafts and debridement since 2009. In 2015 and 2016, she had two skin grafts and debridement done. However, the wound recurred after several months and the condition keeps coming back after several months of healing.
In June, Sarah returned for a skin graft and flap cover. She had the flap cover done, and on July 26, Sarah will undergo debridement and skin graft treatment.
Her cumulative bill is quite high. Fortunately, Sarah will receive support from National Health Insurance to cover $2,083. To help cover the rest of the expenses, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, requests $1,129.
Sarah says, “I wish to be treated and to continue working and spend time with my children. I miss them and want to be home for them. Kindly help me.”
