Ei is a 13-year-old girl from Burma. She lives with her father, two older sisters, and one older brother in Phop Phra District, Tak Province, Thailand. Ei’s father and all her siblings work as day labourers in the corn fields near their village, while Ei helps with the family’s daily household chores. Her mother passed away in March 2026. In her free time, Ei enjoys playing with her friends and helping with the family’s daily responsibilities. On the 23rd of June, 2026, Ei had intense lower abdominal pain, vomiting, and a fever. She went to the local clinic near her village, where she underwent another physical examination and was diagnosed with appendicitis by the nurse. She was referred to our medical partner's care center, Mae Sot General Hospital, for surgery and further care. On June 25th, Ei will undergo an appendectomy. Our medical partner, Burma Medical Children Fund (BCMF), is asking for help in raising $1,500 for her procedure and care. After recovery, Ei should be able to return to her daily activities and support her family. Sokly is a 49-year-old construction worker from Cambodia. He lives in Kandal with his widowed mother, who is a retired farmer. He divorced his wife four years ago, and his two children live with their mother. He has 11 siblings, all of whom are married and live in nearby provinces. In his free time, he enjoys looking after his ducks and chickens. One week ago, Sokly was riding his motorcycle in the rain when it slipped, causing him to fall and fracture his left proximal femur. He received first aid, but the hospital did not have the equipment needed for surgery, so he was referred to our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre. The fracture causes significant pain and prevents him from putting weight on his left leg or walking. He currently needs assistance to move around, making it difficult for him to work as a construction worker and manage his daily activities. On August 11th, Sokly will undergo a fracture repair procedure, which will stabilize his fractured femur, relieve his pain, and help him regain the ability to walk so he can return to his normal daily activities and work. His family can contribute $50, but needs help raising $550 more to fund his procedure and care. Sokly said, “I hope the surgery will stabilize my fractured femur, relieve my pain, and help me walk again so I can return to my normal daily activities and work.”

Hirphasa is a 68-year-old father of ten children from Ethiopia. Hirphasa lost his wife eight years ago, and has dedicated his life to raising his family of six boys and four girls. Throughout his decades working the land, he took great pride in being hardworking and completely self-sufficient. Hirphasa is presently facing a difficult chapter in his life, as cataracts slowly cloud his left eye, causing his vision to blur and making it very hard for him to see at night. This gradual loss of sight has taken away his independence, making him rely heavily on his children just to get around and handle daily tasks. Fortunately, on August 19th, Hirphasa is scheduled to undergo cataract surgery with the help of our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, where surgeons will remove and replace the blurred lens. After recovery, he will be able to see clearly. Now, Hirphasa needs help to raise $150 to fund this procedure.
