Akankwasa is a farmer from Uganda. She is a single mother to six children, and separated with her husband due to family misunderstandings. Akankwasa has three daughters, all whom are married and are small scale farmers. Her three sons are still studying in school, and she pays for all of their school fees solely through farming crops like tomatoes, onions, and passion fruits.
Akankwasa came to our medical partner’s care center presenting with a median thigh lipoma. She has had this mass for a year, and experiences a lot of pain and discomfort as a result. Akankwasa will need to undergo a mass excision procedure to remove the lipoma.
Fortunately, surgeons at our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, can help. On November 17th, surgeons will remove the mass in her thigh. Now, Akankwasa needs help to raise $196 to fund this procedure.
Akankwasa shared, “I know that once my surgery goes on as expected, I will have a new life ahead and hope to continue with farming after I have fully recovered.”
