Isaac is a nine-year-old boy from Kenya. His mother describes him as cheerful, loving ball games, skipping rope, hide-and-seek, singing, and praying. He is already a dependable little helper at home. He fetches water from the stream, washes utensils, and helps herd the family cow. His mother makes a living through casual work and small-scale trading in farm produce such as bananas and avocados, buying what she can from local vendors and reselling it to support the household.
In 2018, Isaac had an umbilical hernia. His mother first noticed the protruding navel at birth. At times it seemed to disappear, so the family hoped it would resolve on its own. By 2023, however, the swelling was becoming more noticeable.
Fortunately, on September 17th, Isaac will undergo hernia repair surgery, and our medical partner, IcFEM Dreamland Mission Hospital, is requesting $696 to fund Isaac’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live a healthier life.
Isaac’s mother says, “I really appreciate that my child is finally getting help. I have lacked peace for a very long time, and this will surely be a time of restoration.”
