Jeremiah is a 15-year-old boy from southwestern Uganda. He is almost finished with primary school and looks forward to hopefully continuing his education in secondary school if his family can afford the tuition. In his free time, Jeremiah enjoys playing soccer and working with his boy scout troop.
Jeremiah has had a scrotal hernia for 12 years that impairs his ability to walk, go to school, and complete daily chores. Jeremiah’s mother, a widowed mother of four who works as a farm laborer, is unable to afford surgery for her son.
Our medical partner, The Kellerman Foundation, is requesting $229 to cover the cost of Jeremiah’s hernia repair surgery. The procedure is scheduled to take place on July 1 and, once completed, will hopefully allow Jeremiah to walk comfortably, go back to school, and help his mother at home. Jeremiah wishes to someday work to improve his community.
“It is by the grace of God that we have such support. My son has been sick for so long, but we could not afford the surgery. May God bless all the donors abundantly for their kindness,” says Jeremiah’s mother.
