Mark is a five-year-old boy from Kenya. He is the youngest of three children. He is in nursery school and likes going to school. His parents are casual workers picking tea in their neighborhood.
For about three years, Mark has been experiencing recurrent tonsils and swollen adenoids. The condition has become worse. Eating, sleeping, and talking have become a struggle, and he has been in and out of school.
Mark was diagnosed with enlarged tonsils and adenoids, which are the soft tissue behind the nasal cavity. Without treatment, this condition will cause Mark’s symptoms to persist and possibly even intensify.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $453 to fund an adenotonsillectomy for Mark scheduled on November 20th. Surgeons will remove his tonsils and adenoids, hopefully relieving Mark of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably.
“My son has not been able to sleep well and even eating is a problem. I kindly request for help so that he can be well again and be able to live his normal life and go to school when they open,” said Mark’s mother.
