Hunde is a vibrant six-year-old from Ethiopia who just started kindergarten. He has a very joyful spirit, although lately, he has been experiencing recurring tonsillitis, which has sometimes left him feeling drained and upset.
Six months ago, Hunde began experiencing a relentless fever, coupled with difficulty swallowing, disruptive snoring, and fragmented sleep. The condition brings a painful recurrence of frequent sore throats and gnawing discomfort, turning eating into a challenge and play into a struggle. His mood and energy levels are affected, and his parents are worried. Hunde was recently diagnosed with enlarged tonsils, which, if not treated, will cause his symptoms to persist and possibly intensify over time.
Fortunately, our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital (SWGH), can help. On June 4th, Hunde will undergo a tonsillectomy, during which surgeons will remove his tonsils, thereby relieving Hunde of his symptoms and helping him live more comfortably. SWGH is requesting $700 to fund his surgery.
Hunde’s family shared, “With this treatment, we hope our son can eat more easily. We hope for him to be happy and his energy to return so he can play with his friends again.”
