Navid is a two-year-old boy from Tanzania. He lives with his mother and older sibling. His mother survives on casual work, including washing clothes and cleaning houses for others. Navid’s mother describes him as an active and curious boy, though his medical condition has affected his ability to explore.
Navid was born with fused fingers on his left hand. The condition affects how he grips and manipulates objects, and has affected the development of his fine motor skills, such as picking up small items and feeding himself.
Fortunately, our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is helping Navid receive treatment. On February 18th, surgeons at their care center will perform a contracture release surgery to improve his hand function. Now, he needs help to fund this $717 procedure.
Navid’s mother says, “He cannot use his hand properly to grasp objects because his fingers are stuck together and tight.”
