Sintayehu is an 18-year-old girl from Ethiopia who dreams of being a doctor and loves to help her mother around the house after school. Her parents are farmers and together they care for Sintayehu, her brother and four sisters.
When she was three years old, Sintayehu’s left foot began to grow incorrectly. To this day, it is difficult for her to walk and balance. She has a limp and feels pain, not to mention the stigma associated with a foot deformity. ‘’Whenever I am with my friends I always feel inferior to them and feel sad, I just want this to be over,” says Sintayehu.
A corrective left foot triple arthrodesis surgery will help Sintayehu to walk without a limp or pain, and it will go a long way into growing her self-esteem and helping her interact with school friends without a stigma. Let’s help raise $1,000 for the surgery that will do so much more than correct Sintayehu’s left foot!
