Evelyn is a 10-year-old smart and friendly young girl who lives in Quibdó, Colombia with her family. Her joy and curiosity shine through every day at school, where she interacts with her classmates with enthusiasm and warmth. When she grows up, Evelyn wishes to become a great veterinarian. Since birth, Evelyn has had an umbilical hernia, a condition in which a small portion of abdominal tissue protrudes through the navel. The condition has been causing her discomfort and tenderness in the navel area, especially when performing activities like jumping, playing and enjoying her childhood. Surgery has been recommended to correct the hernia, and prevent possible future complications. Fortunately, Evelyn is scheduled for repair surgery on August 20th. Our medical partner, Clínica Noel, is requesting $1,005 to fund Evelyn's surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow her to live a healthier life. Sinbone is a six-year-old from Ethiopia. She is a kindergarten student and a loving middle child between two sisters. Her father works in a government office, while her mother stays home to look after the children. Since she was a baby, Sinbone had been experiencing symptoms like a cold, fever, difficulty breathing, and snoring. Initially thought to be a simple cold, the persistent symptoms led her parents to a nearby clinic after her first birthday, where doctors diagnosed her with enlarged tonsils. For years, the condition was managed with repeated medications, but it has now dramatically worsened in both frequency and severity, deeply impacting her daily well-being and making surgical intervention urgently necessary. Our medical partner, Saglan Wajee General Hospital, is requesting $700 to fund a tonsillectomy for Sinbone, which is scheduled to take place on October 3rd. Surgeons will remove her tonsils, hopefully relieving Sinbone of her symptoms and helping her live more comfortably. Sinbone's parents shared, "We pray that this surgery will finally free our daughter from years of breathing struggles and endless medicines."

Vuthy is a 21-year-old day laborer from Cambodia. He lives in Kampong Cham Province with his parents, who work as day laborers. He is the fourth of five siblings. His three older siblings are married, and his youngest sister is in Grade 12. In his free time, he enjoys playing volleyball with his friends in the village. About six months ago, Vuthy was involved in a motor vehicle accident that fractured his left upper arm. He underwent surgery at a private clinic, but the bone became infected and did not heal properly, resulting in a chronic wound and a radial nerve injury. He experiences persistent pain, stiffness, and pus discharge from the wound on his left upper arm. The radial nerve injury also prevents him from lifting his wrist or straightening his fingers, making it difficult to use his left hand for work and daily activities. When Vuthy learned about our medical partner, Children's Surgical Centre, he traveled for three hours seeking treatment. On August 4th, surgeons at CSC will perform a debridement procedure to remove the damaged and infected tissue from his left upper arm, helping control the infection and promote wound healing. This is an important first step before further reconstructive procedures to restore the function of his arm and hand. Vuthy's family can contribute $50, but needs help to raise $367 more to fund his procedure and care. Vuthy said, “I hope this surgery will remove the infection, heal my arm, and help me regain the use of my hand so I can return to my normal life and become independent again.”
