Levi is a 56-year-old man and the father of four children from Uganda. He currently serves as a community mobilizer on a voluntary basis, helping to educate people about health-related issues. Additionally, he engages in small-scale farming with his wife to provide food for their household and to generate a small surplus for sale locally.
For the past year, Levi has had an inguinal hernia. He has been experiencing recurring lower abdominal pain accompanied by intermittent swelling in his inguinal region, which becomes more severe after riding a motorcycle. He sought medical attention at our medical partner’s care center, Rwibaale Health Center, where he was advised to undergo an ultrasound scan. The doctor recommended surgical hernia repair to address his symptoms.
On January 6th, Levi will undergo surgery, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $234 to fund Levi’s treatment and care. Once completed, this procedure should allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Levi says, “I thank God that I will be treated by the people of goodwill and hope to recover soon and resume my duties as a community mobilizer.”
