Talent is 30 years old and a father of one from Uganda. He recently secured work as a taxi conductor, hoping to improve his family’s circumstances, but his health condition has greatly affected his ability to work and earn an income.
For the past 10 years, Talent has had a hydrocele, which is a swelling in a sensitive area of his body. Because the swelling was not painful and did not significantly interfere with his daily activities, he never paid much attention to it or sought medical care. However, it started to cause discomfort and pain, affecting his ability to work.
Talent learned about our medical partner’s care center, Karoli Lwanga Hospital, where he was diagnosed with a left scrotal hydrocele. Following assessment, the surgical team recommended a hydrocele repair as the appropriate treatment. On September 8th, he will undergo surgery, and our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, is requesting $146 to fund Talent’s surgery. Once completed, this procedure will hopefully allow him to live more comfortably and confidently.
Talent says, “I am the only engine that drives my family. Without health, I have no job. Without a job, I can’t provide anything to my family. Kindly I hope for your support to have my surgery to have my health back.”
