Blessing is a five-year-old boy living with his parents and two siblings in Tanzania. To support their family, Blessing’s mother works as a tailor and his father owns a small business. Blessing is currently in kindergarten, where he loves to learn and play with his friends.
Blessing was a healthy baby, but when he turned two, his mother noticed that he was having difficulty breathing and discomfort while eating. His mother brought him to the local pharmacy, where they prescribed medication to ease his symptoms. The medication helped for a few days, but then Blessing began to fall ill again. Doctors diagnosed Blessing with swollen tonsils and reccomended that he undergo surgery to have them removed. Without the procedure, Blessing will continue to experience difficulty eating and breathing.
Our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare Foundation, is requesting $633 to fund Blessing’s surgery, which will be performed on July 20. Blessing’s family is hopeful that the surgery will cure him so that he can begin primary school with his friends. Blessing’s mother says, “Please help my son get this treatment so that he may be able to attend school.”
