Namatovu is a single mother to one child, a 10-year-old boy in fifth grade. She earns a living from her small retail shop business. She and her son live in a single-roomed rental house.
Namatovu has experienced colicky abdominal pain and a sharp pain within the left iliac fossa for the past year. This pain radiates into her abdomen and then later into her back thereby causing a severe backache. She feels abdominal discomfort whenever she is sitting and when she bends over. If not treated, the symptoms may persist.
Fortunately our medical partner, African Mission Healthcare, can help. They have diagnosed her with a left ovarian mass that needs to be removed. She will undergo a cystectomy on July 7th. Now, they are requesting $220 to help fund the cost of her surgery.
Namatovu shared, “I will be grateful to have a healthy life after my surgery is done so I can continue with my business and provide for my son.”

Namatovu underwent a cystectomy to remove an ovarian mass.
Namatovu had a successful cystectomy treatment due to tubo-ovarian cyst. She is getting better as she no longer has her previous pain and discomfort. She’s now able to do her activities that she couldn’t do before surgery and operate her business to support her family.
Namatovu shared with us, “I thank you very much from the bottom of my heart as you have done me a miracle to have my health restored on your bill. This is so amazing and I promise to work hard so that I can help someone else in my littleness because you have initiated that heart in me. I will continue with my business when stable enough.”
